More than 200 young people had registered for the career fair at the Free University of Brussels (ULB) to explore job opportunities involving German language skills.
Many stopped at the Mundus maris stand keeping three people at the stand busy throughout.
The visitors were curious. Several took the description of the currently available job.
They engaged in lively discussions about what Mundus maris does to protect the ocean.
Quite a number asked and made suggestions how they could support that effort in one way or the other.
It was a great event. The conversations went on for the whole afternoon of 21 April 2015 into the early evening hours.
Generous catering provided by the organisers helped to keep energy levels high.
The event was organised by the Alumniportal Deutschland and the German Embassy in Brussels together with ULB as part of the German year in Belgium.
The Alumniportal had invited Mundus maris to put up a stand.
They wanted to diversify the offer for young people with German and other language skills.
We are happy that we could offer a position for a part time social media assistant.
It attracted a lot of interest.
We could also offer advice and connections to several young visitors to help them navigate the next steps in building their career mindful of the need to be part of the change for more sustainable living and being.
Volunteering in support of various activities of Mundus maris on the ground or strengthening the web resources are opportunities to do just that.
The next activities in line are about making World Oceans Day 2015, 8 June, a success in Brussels and many other places around the world.
