Chantal Abord-Hugon

has worked for more than 30 years in project management and coordination and is currently the coordinator of the Global Strategy for Arts and Culture. This ambitious social project puts arts and culture at the service of the sustainable development of the Acadian community in the province of New Brunswick, Canada, and is based on collaboration with various sectors of society.

She was previously responsible for setting up and running a public engagement programme linking local and international development issues. She has worked particularly with women in coastal communities in Canada and internationally as facitlitator in organising and planning development strategies.

Chantal served already 2017 and 2018 on the international jury.

Sean Byrne

Dr. Sean Byrne is a native of Ireland. He has spent his career working to understand and solve world conflicts though peacebuilding interventions in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Israel and Palestine, South Africa, and the United States. He is cofounding director of the Arthur V. Mauro Centre for Peace and Justice (2003-2018) St. Paul's College, and the Peace and Conflict Studies graduate program (2005- 2014), the University of Manitoba where he was Director. He was a consultant on the decommissioning of weapons in the Northern Ireland peace process, and a consultant to the Senior Advisor for Europe and Eurasia at the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Dr. Byrne is former vice-president of the International Sector of the Society for Professionals in Dispute Resolution (1997-1999), a co-chair and board member of the National Coalition for Peace and Conflict Resolution (2001-2005), and chair of the Peace Studies section of International Studies Association (2004-2006). Demonstrating his outstanding contributions to education and peace among nations, he is the recipient of four teaching and mentoring awards, and two University of Manitoba outreach awards. His publications include more than 100 articles and book chapters as well as 11 books on conflict transformation and peacebuilding.

Thierno Diouf

is Programme manager at Brussels Regional Public Service with higher education as a Geographer with a specialisation in integrated water resources management and geomatics. Thierno was already a member of the international jury in 2017.

He taught several years geography and environment study and is very interested in environmental education.

Mónica Edwards Schachter, PhD

is trained in both natural and social sciences and works as research and consultant in social innovation, creativity and sustainability education. She is an engineer specialised in innovation and holds a PhD in Science Education with a pioneering dissertation on the planetary crisis with special focus on climate change challenges. Mónica received a prize for Redes para la Paz (Networks for Peace, 2004), an essay on the interrelationships between peace, environment and sustainable development and won the IBM Award with a role-playing game for scientific reasoning and decision-making in the Science in Action contest (Madrid, 2012). She has worked on international curriculum development with Latin American institutions, project evaluations and advised both national and various European Commission services.

Mónica took up a new position as Mentor at STEM TALET GIRL a year ago. She served already in the 2017 jury.

Doudou Ndiaye

is Principal School Teacher of exceptional class. He is a manager in service at the Middle Education College Abdoulaye Sadji (Cemas) in Rufisque, Senegal, but currently on secondment for education science studies at the université Gaston Berger in Saint-Louis.

Doudou is President and founding member of the Training Centers for Active Education Methods (Ceméa) in Rufisque. He has a particular interest in teaching, sport and interculturality, but also for general awareness of the environment. His interest in sport has allowed him to integrate the practice of sport and the conservation of the environment through activities combining sport and nature. He is actively involved in the professionalisation of the Basic Community Organisations (BCOs).

The Ceméa represents a vast and diverse movement of educators, who work for an education where each child, adolescent, adult, is aware of the world around him or her, appropriates it, makes it evolve, modifies it in a perspective of individual, collective and social progress.

Doudou has already served in the international jury in 2016 and 2018.

Olubunmi Abayomi OMOTESHO

is a Professor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, where he taught numerous graduate and undergraduate courses. Over the years since his first appointment in 1980, he served in over 40 Committees and administrative positions including:

Head of Department; Sub-Dean, Faculty of Agriculture; Sub-Dean, Student Affairs Unit; Chairman – University Library and Publications Committee; President, Unilorin Pace-Setters M.C.S.; Chairman P.T.A., Flora Nursery and Primary School; Dean, Faculty of Agriculture; Member University of Ilorin Governing Council Representing Senate; Dean, Student Affairs Unit; Senate Representative Appointments & Promotion Committee among others.

Prof. Omotesho is also Member Board of Trustees Nigerian Association of Evaluators (NAE) 2015 to date and a Fellow of the Nigerian Association of Evaluators 2019. Beyond that he has almost 100 publications to his national and international record and serves as reviewer for several scientific journals.

Samuel Orovwuje

holds two Masters Degrees in Public and International Affairs, and Humanitarian and Refugee Studies from University of Lagos, Nigeria. He also has international training and exposure in International Refugee Law, Policy and Practice from America University, Cairo, Egypt and a certificate in Forced Migration from the prestigious Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford, United Kingdom.

He is the Founder and National Coordinator, Humanitarian Care for Displaced Persons, a not – for- profit organization based in Lagos Nigeria, providing advocacy and capacity building on International migration, Peace building, Conflicts and Internal displacement amongst others. Sam has also authored book on Federalism, Leadership and Development

Mariella C. Remund

Distinguished Professor at CETYS University, Mexico and Guest Professor at Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xian, China. She lived and worked as Executive for an American Multinational company in Europe, USA, Argentina, Mexico and China.

Since 2008 she is co-founder, co-owner and Chief Curator of a private Art Museum in Germany dedicated to the work and life of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. In 2012 the Museum has been recognized by the Secretary of Culture in Mexico as one of the two cultural institutions that best represent Mexico in Germany.

She lives and works in Beijing since 2003.

Publications: about cultural, social and sustainable entrepreneurship, she developed the entrepreneurship model at the intersection of art, science and business. Latest publication: the cultural book: "The Dragon and the Eagle”, 2017, which shows how similar the Chinese and Mexican cultures are. The photos from the book has been shown in an art exhibition at the Mexican Embassy in Beijing in June 2018 and other major events.

Sangeeta Sonak, PhD

is a marine microbiologist and the Founding Director of a research organization ‘Centre for Environment and Natural Resource Management’ (CENRM), which aims at promoting activities relating to protection of environment. She has about 30 years of research experience; of guiding research teams and coordinating research projects from various highly reputed national and international funding agencies such as European Commission (EC), Asia Pacific Network (APN), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Department for International Development (DFID), World Bank, and Toyota Foundation etc.

She has been awarded prestigious international fellowships such as Fulbright Scholarship under Fulbright-Nehru Environmental leadership program (FNELP) at Virginia Tech Institute, U.S.A., JSPS Fellowship for Senior Scientist by the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), Erasmus Mundus Professorship to teach and conduct research at three European Universities by the European Commission.

Sangeeta has authored five books, has several research publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals. Her major contribution is in the field of coastal and marine sector and also to document Goa’s ecosystems under a project titled ‘Seas and shores around us’.

Maria del Carmen Patricia Morales (PhD)

is the Mundus maris Board member supporting and coordinating the work of the international Jury for text and illustrated submissions to the Mundus maris Awards contest 2018.
