HUGYCUP is an international underwater photography and video contest. Mundus maris sponsored the wide angle prize this year. It was won by Luc Eeckhaut, who was also the overall winner of the HUGYCUP 2014/15. Congratulations! The superb award ceremony took place 26 September 2015. We keep a beautiful memory..
Masterfully organised by Danny van Belle, the HUGYCUP Award Ceremony near Ghent, Belgium, appealed to all senses.
The 180 or so guests were treated to a rich Breughel Dinner first and then delved into the underwater world in the Philippines, theatre of the competition.
An international jury had selected the best of photography and videography in several technical categories spanning a portfolio of 10 pictures, wide angle and macrophotography, fish portraits, nudibranches, the equivalent for compact camera pictures and video. Altogether the prizes were estimated to be worth more than 30,000 Euro.
